Three Dantians & Decision Making

 An Embodied Journey Through Nervous System Regulation for maing better choices in your life!

Workshop Description

Calm your nervous system, awaken your inner wisdom, make decisions with clarity.

Your nervous system is always speaking.
Your Lower Dan tien roots you, the Middle Dan tien guides your heart, and the Upper Dan tien brings insight. 


The three dan tiens are vital energy centers or intelligent portals in the body, as essential to your well-being as other more physical systems like the circulatory or digestive systems. The three dan tiens are considered 'elixir fields', your inner medicine fields. 


When these centers are aligned, decision-making becomes felt in your whole body, not just your mind. When they move in harmony, decision-making is no longer just a mental process; it is felt, embodied, and guided by your whole being.


In this immersive workshop, you’ll explore how nervous system regulation shapes the clarity, ease, and integrity of your decisions. 


Through Alexander Technique principles, gentle Tai Chi and Qigong movement, and mindful engagement with the three dan tiens, you will:

  • Listen to your body’s signals before acting
  • Release tension patterns that cloud judgment
  • Reconnect with embodied intuition as a decision-making compass


In this workshop, you will:

  • Reconnect with the Lower Dantian to anchor choices and activate parasympathetic calm
  • Open the Middle Dantian for emotional coherence and relational clarity

We will meet online via Zoom Saturdays from 10am to 12 noon (eastern time) to: 

  • understand and engage with your three dan tiens
  • utilize Alexander Technique discoveries for deepened integration
  • Guided practices such as dan tien breathing, somatic weight shifting for grounding, smiling insid 
  • Gradual integration of nervous system practices 
  • Guided practices such as dan tien breathing, somatic weight shifting for grounding, smiling inside 
  • bonus materials --> guided meditations, video exercises, decision-making cheat sheet

Theme: Settling into your body, setting intention, nervous system tuning.  


  • Introduction to the course and intention-setting 
  • Breath & micro-movements
  • Overview of the three dantians as energy centers
  • Gentle Alexander Technique awareness exercises (Primary Control, inhibition)
  • Breathing and body scans to sense habitual tension patterns
  • Decision-Making Focus: Noticing habitual tension patterns and how they influence decisions
  • Short journaling: noticing where your nervous system “lives” in decision-making


Week 2 – Lower Dantien & Grounded Decisions

Theme: Rooting and stability


  • Decision-Making Focus: Feeling stability, safety, and bodily support for decisions
  • Lower Dantian anatomy, energy, and intelligence
  • Practices: lower-dantian breathing, Tai Chi weight shifts, AT-guided standing
  • Exercises to notice reactive vs. grounded decision-making patterns
  • Journaling / group reflection: “Where do I feel stable? Where do I brace?”

  • AT integration: softening shoulders, freeing sternum, de-armouring breath
  • Gentle heart-opening movements (Tai Chi spirals, arm expansions) 
  • Spiraling & mindful walking 
  • Decision-Making Focus: Distinguishing emotional truth from performative or reactive impulses
  • Journaling: “What feels aligned? What feels performative?”

Week 4 – Upper Dantien & Insight and Spacious Awareness

 Theme: Spacious clarity and intuitive decision-making


  • Upper Dantian: head/neck alignment, Third Eye, insight
  • Alexander Technique practices: A/O joint, “Crystal Palace” awareness, micro-meditations
  • Breathing and seated/standing practices to sense insight and spacious attention
  • Exercises: “Three-Breath Vision Drop” on current decisions. 
  • Journaling: “What insight arises when I pause?”

  • Partner exercises: mirroring, sensing energy flow 
  • Decision-Making Focus: Using the Three-Center Decision Compass for aligned choices
  • Journaling: “How do my three centers guide choices together?”

Week 6 – Embodied Autonomy & Applied Decision Making

  • Review of key practices for grounding, heart clarity, and insight
  • Longer full body embodiment sequence: moving through all three dantians

  • Decision-Making Focus: Applying integrated awareness to real choices; claiming your inner compass
  • Closing ritual: guided lying-down meditation, claiming inner compass 
  • Discussion / Q&A on sustaining practice post-course

This class structure progresses naturally: first calming and tuning the nervous system, then working from lower (grounding) → middle (heart) → upper (insight), then integrating and applying, finishing with autonomy and real-life embodiment. You will also receive:
