It's a shortened condensed version of the yang style long form. When you have less room to practice and perhaps have to go indoors Rainy Day Tai Chi is the perfect movement series to practice.
New online class starts in June - see below for details....
Have you heard of Rainy Day Tai Chi?
It’s a combination of the Yang Style Long Form, movements done left and right - which makes it perfect for a tai chi online program! There are no concerns about having to turn around and not be able to see the computer screen. Classes will be taught by both Jamee and Marie.
Although the internal and external martial arts both have internal and external elements,
it should be clear that the external martial arts are based on the energy of movement, whereas the internal martial arts are based on the movement of energy.
The synergy of the Alexander Technique and Tai Chi is like a Parallel Pathway for Conscious Coordination. Through the internal practices of Tai Chi and AT, our system organizes along a central axis. As effort falls away, qi flows more freely and parasympathetic activity supports regulation, resilience, and responsive change.
How we will meet:
I will hold two classes weekly on Monday mornings at 10am and Wednesday mornings at 10am. Each class will be one hour. If you can participate twice a week it is surely a better and more concentrated way to learn.
Although, I understand people’s summer schedules can be quite busy, so here is an idea: Each week I will go over the same lesson, same movement in both classes. Each week I will add a new movement.
You can come both days or one day. Coming a second time will give you a chance to deepen your understanding of the moves.
You can pay for 8 classes or 12 classes. And, you can enjoy a discount for taking more classes.

Psychophysical Unity
Intention shapes coordination (yi / direction), engaging whole-system integration across cognitive and motor networks.
Non-Doing / Inhibition
A pause in habitual reaction (wu wei / inhibition) increases adaptive choice and cortical regulation.
Dynamic Alignment
Head–spine relationship and upright structure support ease, balance, and force transmission.
Slowness as Method
Reduced speed enhances proprioception, interoception, and motor learning precision.
Effortless Efficiency
Reduction of excess muscular activity improves coordination and energy economy.
Nervous System Regulation
Practices support parasympathetic tone, emotional regulation, and resilience.
